The Mexican Cultural Center invites you to participate in West Chicago’s Mexican Independence Day Celebration set for Saturday and Sunday, September 16 & 17, 2017. The Weekend long celebration takes place from 8:00 am to 9:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am to 5pm. The Festival is held in historic downtown West Chicago. (Please download flyer/schedule)

Activities for the day include a parade from Leman Middle School to the downtown district, performances by Ballet Folklorico, musical performances, children’s activities, and a 13 foot piñata. Food vendors and local businesses and organizations are asked to join us in the downtown celebration by providing food, hands-on information booths and activities. This year booths will be located on Galena and Main Streets.

The Mexican Independence Day Celebration will receive advertisement coverage in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Daily Herald, The Press, and various online listings. This weekend event attracts West Chicago’s community to the heart of our city as well as provides a dynamic cultural attraction for the entire community and surrounding area.
